Design Engineers develop innovative new products in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic fields that are cost effective and market driven. They follow the product through the complete life cycle from concept to replacement. They expect to get their hands dirty, bringing designs to life, and proving them out in the real world.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Analyzes research data and proposed product specifications to determine feasibility of product proposal.
- Develops product or system layout and prepares detailed drawings and schematics using Solidworks.
- Conducts Finite Element Analysis to evaluate and optimize designs.
- Confers with manufacturing and engineering personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develops design or design modifications.
- Develops experimental test programs and fixturing.
- Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
- Leads manual development for safety, operation, and troubleshooting.
- Support sales, customer service, and manufacturing.
Candidates will have a Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. They will be proficient with Solidworks or other 3D modeling software and Microsoft Office are required, and FEA experience is preferred. We are looking for someone with the ability to write routine reports and correspondence, speak effectively among small groups, and interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, or diagrams.
