Director of Employee Relations and Workforce Strategy
On-Site Location : Northampton, MA
Full Time
Salary : $75,000-$85,000
Schedule : Monday-Friday, 9a-5p
The Director of Employee Relations and Workforce Strategy will play a pivotal leadership role in fostering a positive, collaborative, and inclusive workplace culture. In this key position, you will leverage your expertise in employee and labor relations to build strong partnerships with organizational leaders, resolve complex workplace challenges, and guide the development and implementation of fair and effective collective bargaining agreements and policies. Acting as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, you will help shape initiatives that strengthen employee engagement and organizational success.
Key Responsibilities :
Cultivate Positive Relationships : Build strong, trusted partnerships with employees and leadership teams to promote open communication and a culture of respect.Resolve Workplace Issues : Conduct fair, thorough investigations to address employee concerns, grievances, and conflicts, ensuring equitable resolutions.Strategic Policy Development : Collaborate on the creation, negotiation, and implementation of collective bargaining agreements, workplace policies, and labor strategies aligned with organizational goals.Provide Leadership Training : Develop and deliver training to supervisors and managers on labor relations, conflict resolution, and effective people management strategies.Advise Senior Leadership : Act as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance on labor and employee relations strategies, policies, and best practices.Lead Organizational Initiatives : Drive key HR initiatives that enhance workplace culture, employee engagement, and retention.Represent the Organization : Represent ServiceNet with professionalism during labor negotiations, grievance hearings, and unemployment proceedings.Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP / SCP) preferred.Experience : Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in labor and employee relations, including at least 5 years in a leadership or management role. Experience in non-profits or mission-driven organizations is a strong plus.Skills : Demonstrated expertise in labor relations, conflict resolution, and negotiation; strong interpersonal and communication skills; proficiency in HR systems, MS Office, and relevant software tools.Attributes : Ability to manage sensitive issues with professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality; exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills; commitment to fostering equity and inclusivity in the workplace.Travel : Ability to travel within the ServiceNet region (Hampshire, Franklin, Hampden, Berkshire, and North Worcester counties) as needed.Benefits :
