Key Responsibilities :

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of construction sites, ensuring work is progressing on schedule and within budget.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction workers, subcontractors, and staff.
  • Ensure adherence to legal and safety requirements, minimizing risks on the project.
  • Maintain constant communication with project managers, reporting on progress, risks, and adjustments needed.
  • Manage the procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring availability and timely delivery.
  • Resolve conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably.
  • Conduct quality control inspections to ensure standards and specifications are met.
  • Prepare and submit project reports and documentation.
  • Train and mentor construction workers and staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other construction and building specialists.

Qualifications :

  • Proven experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role within the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction operations, including equipment, materials, manpower, and overall project management.
  • Strong leadership and human resources management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
  • Familiarity with construction software and project management tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • Blue Beam, Trinity, and / or eBuilder is preferred
  • OSHA 10 is required
  • Estimating Experience is required
  • Understanding Plans & Specifications – Reviewing blueprints, architectural, structural, and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) drawings.

  • Quantity Takeoff – Measuring and calculating material quantities using software like Bluebeam, Planswift, or On-Screen Takeoff.
  • Material & Labor Costs – Sourcing current pricing for materials and labor based on local market conditions.
  • Subcontractor & Supplier Quotes – Requesting and comparing bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Overhead & Profit Considerations – Factoring in indirect costs, contingencies, and markup.
  • Estimating Software – Utilizing tools such as ProEst, RSMeans, or Sage Estimating for accuracy.
  • Bid Preparation & Submission – Assembling estimates into competitive, clear, and comprehensive bid proposals. Attending pre-bids and communicating with sub contractors. Motivated to review bid boards daily and go after projects with very little supervision.
