Sesame Workshop’s Office of the President has an opening for a 2024 Winter/Spring Intern to provide administrative support and preparation for various projects including speaking engagements and events. The Intern will report to the Director, Special Projects & Donor Relations, assisting with special projects, including mailings to donors and prospects. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior or senior interested in hands-on, in-person learning experiences that involve administration, non-profit project management, and philanthropic development. The ideal candidate is proactive, well-organized, and adept at problem-solving, with a passion for Sesame Workshop’s mission and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Please note: Candidates should be currently enrolled and able to commit to two days (Tuesday/Wednesday or Wednesday/Thursday) approximately 14 hours per week, up to 24 hours per week with some flexibility to accommodate class schedule.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support within the Office of the President.
  • Update contact records and labels via Outlook, Salesforce, Excel, and Word.
  • Assist with special projects, including annual mailings, solicitation letters, gifts, & impact reports
  • Create mail merges and prepare packages for mailing.
  • Assist with technology and printing needs, copying, data entry list creations, invoicing, contracts, timesheets, orders, and approvals.
  • Help submit monthly expense reports via Concur, our travel & expense management system.
  • Handle incoming & outgoing mail, maintain filing system, order & organize supplies/premiums.
  • Assist with research, preparation, and notetaking for meetings, presentations, special projects, speaking engagements, and various events, including Sesame Workshop’s Annual Benefit.
  • Conduct donor research and utilize databases such as iWave for donor prospect management, including research, briefing materials, and cultivation strategy for the President's schedule.
  • Suggest social media concepts and help implement.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Availability in person on Wednesdays is required.
  • Candidate must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
  • Candidate must be able to commute to Sesame Workshop’s offices at 1900 Broadway.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other computer skills.
  • Proactive, well-organized, and adept at problem-solving and achieving goals using available resources and downtime effectively.
  • Enthusiasm, high energy, and a willingness to learn.
  • Social media savvy is a plus.
