PFAS Sampling Program Supervisor

A PFAS Sampling Program Supervisor at WCEC / SET Environmental is responsible to:

• Maintain a strong focus on communication with affected residents and administration of PFAS Groundwater Sampling under WCEC / SET Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) Remediation Contract North-Metro PFAS Sampling Project
• Manage the sample collection schedule with residents and junior level staff to achieve program goals for weekly sample counts and data quality objectives
• May lead other environmental project work including investigation, remediation, sample collection, data analysis, while working alongside and supporting other Project Managers and Senior Managers on multiple projects
• Coordinates and delivers on-schedule and on-budget tasks
• Coordinates and oversees the work of subcontractors
• Develop junior staff, particularly in the areas of technical data collection, sample collection, site management, report preparation, and client relations through skills training and on the job experience
• Conducts performance evaluations for applicable staff
• Directs and performs fieldwork which may include soil sampling, groundwater sampling, surface water sampling, biological sampling, excavation oversight, operation and maintenance of remediation systems, and vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys
• Writing and preparing environmental permits, technical reports, work plans, letters, and memorandums
• Performs office work which can include task coordination, data compilation and interpretation, cost estimates, health & safety plan preparation, report writing, regulatory file review, proposal writing, project strategy development, schedule and budget management, and establishment of subcontracts
• Performs report preparation, writing and review
• Records and maintains detailed scientific field notes accurately
• Adheres to WCEC / SET quality assurance/quality control procedures
• Follows WCEC / SET health and safety policies, responsible for on-site safety
• Performing other miscellaneous duties as necessary

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum Four (4) year degree from accredited college or combination of post-secondary in applicable course of study. Ten (10) plus years related industry experience; OR:
• Bachelor’s Degree in applicable technical area, with at least five years of experience in applicable technical area managing projects including workplan development, scheduling, subcontracting, budgeting, invoicing, reporting and managing costs. Master’s or Ph.D. Degree serves as one year experience, AND;
• Minimum of three years' experience working with Minnesota Guidance and Policy with the Superfund/ Petroleum/ MDA programs.
• Obtain and keep current all certifications/licenses required (i.e. 40 Hour HAZWOPER Training, Confined Spaces)
• Read and speak English sufficiently
• Must be flexible to changes in schedule and be available for “on call” status and weekends as needed
