What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Captain - Central State Hospital position at Seven Counties?
Job Description:
- Coordinates and supervises the Security Department of the hospital.
- Creates work schedules for all security staff
- Reviews security applications electronically for staffing needs of all shifts
- Collaborates with Risk Management and Human Resources in the hiring process for staff
- Collaborates with Sergeants in documenting employee performance and evaluations, assessing and ensuring training needs of staff
- Monitors the Security Department time and attendance along with personnel-related matters
- Monitors internal/external hospital grounds physically and through electronic surveillance cameras
- Responds and assists with hospital codes and emergencies
- Serves on committees and teams as assigned
- Ensures documentation and reports are completed and accurate
- Assesses training needs of assigned new and current staff and provides and or schedules necessary training for those security staff on security equipment, procedures department policy and documentation
- Participates in hospital-wide training, education and surveillance activities for regulatory standards of different organizations such as Joint Commission.
- On call and other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High school graduate required, Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Must have three years of experience in behavioral health or rehabilitation settings
- Prior supervisory experience required.
