Position Summary: The Recreational Therapist – Accessible Sports Coordinator will lead and manage the Crotched Mountain Accessible Recreation and Sports program (CMARS). This role includes the development of policies and procedures, planning and executing student, campus, and community programming, and generating revenue.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Organize student centered programs aimed at improving wellness and related benefits through the use of Crotched Mountain’s accessible outdoor recreation facilities and land.
- Organize community/public programs aimed at improving wellness and related benefits for individuals of all abilities through the use of Crotched Mountain’s accessible outdoor recreation facilities and land
- Research and identify grant and other funding opportunities to support the development and expansion of accessible recreation trails and related facilities.
- Coordinate and collaborate with Crotched Mountain staff, local community entities, and other organizations to deliver accessible recreation programs.
- Plan, organize, and lead Adaptive Recreation programs and special events to enhance the CMARS offerings.
- Develop and maintain an ongoing schedule of adaptive recreation programs, training sessions, and special events.
- Assess the wellness and other related benefits of program participation and regular use of accessible recreation areas, making necessary improvements based on evaluations.
- Assist with budgeting and the maintenance of CMARS programs, equipment, and facilities.
- Supervise and train volunteers for the CMARS program
- Recruit, recognize, and retain volunteers who are essential to the success of CMARS.
- Report on program success and areas for improvement, collaborating with the Director of Therapeutic Recreation as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Therapeutic Recreation to ensure the success of the CMARS program.
- Manage budget and resources for the Accessible Recreation and Sports program, working to generate revenue where possible.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Certification from NCTRC
- NH State License as a Recreational Therapist
- Two years of experience leading/training adaptive sports and recreation such as skiing, cycling, kayaking preferred
