Seven Oaks Academy is seeking a caring, motivated and nurturing professional to join our team as a Culinary Prep Cook.
Under general supervision of the Executive Chef, The Culinary Prep Cook assists with food preparation and serves meals and snacks to center children and staff. The Culinary Prep Cook is responsible for maintenance, cleanliness, inventory and safety of kitchen.

Duties
- The prep cook is responsible for working in a fast-paced environment while also being able to effectively multi-task.
- He/she will report to and assist the Executive Chef with the planning and preparation of all food items to be served.
- Ensuring all meals and food prepared are of high quality and appetizing.
- Ensure the preparation station and the kitchen is set up and stocked.
- Prepare simple components of each dish on the menu by chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces.
- Make sure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards.
- Clean prep areas and take care of leftovers.
- Stock inventory and supplies.
- Cook menu items under Leadership of Executive Chef.
Requirements
- 1 – 2 years of professional experience in food service; preferably in child care or institutional setting.
- Basic math skills for measuring and portioning.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Must clear full background check.
- Must pass health screening.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs.
- Stand for long periods of time.
- Move as the position requires.
