Title: Emergency Department RN

Location: Rochester, NY

Shift: 3x12s D/E/N rotation

Position Overview:
As an Emergency Department RN, you will deliver compassionate, efficient, and high-quality care to patients in our fast-paced and dynamic emergency department. You will be responsible for assessing, triaging, and caring for patients with a wide variety of medical conditions, working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver timely, life-saving interventions.

Responsibilities:

• Quickly assess and triage patients to prioritize care based on medical urgency.
• Obtain vital signs, medical histories, and relevant information to determine treatment plans.
• Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and treatments in accordance with medical protocols.
• Assist in performing emergency procedures, such as intubation, wound care, CPR, and other critical interventions.
• Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and any changes in condition in electronic health records (EHR).
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families, helping them understand diagnoses, treatment options, and next steps in care.
• Respond to emergency codes and other critical hospital-wide situations.
• Stay prepared for trauma, cardiac, and respiratory emergencies as well as high-acuity care.
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies, clinical protocols, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe environment.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety protocols.

Requirements:

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
• Experience in high-pressure, fast-paced environments is a plus.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction and teamwork.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and hospital technology.
