Event Coordinator/Tech Assistant

Role: The Event Hosting Assistant will play a key role in creating a welcoming and organized environment for various events hosted at our church. This position requires flexibility with hours as events may occur during weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

Position: Part-Time, Non-exempt 

Reports to:  Property Operations Manager

Responsibilities:
  1. Open and close the building for scheduled events.
  2. Set up event spaces according to provided instructions and diagrams.
  3. Manage audio/video resources such as sound systems, microphones, projectors, and screens.
  4. Provide excellent customer service to all event attendees, ensuring their needs are met with a friendly and helpful attitude.
  5. Assist in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of event spaces before, during, and after events.
  6. Work collaboratively with the event organizers and other staff members to ensure the seamless execution of events.
  7. Uphold the values of love, compassion, and hospitality in all interactions with community members to reflect the teachings of Jesus.
  8. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  1. A committed Christian living in accordance with the Bible whose ethics and behavior reflect the values therein
  2. Is self-motivated, organized, and committed to humble servitude
  3. Has general knowledge of media equipment, ProPresenter, and their applications in a church setting
  4. Is a member of Severns Valley
  5. Agrees with the Constitution and By-Laws of Severns Valley
  6. Previous experience in event hosting, customer service, or related field is preferred.
  7. Ability to work varying hours including evenings and weekends.
  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  9. Basic knowledge of audio/video equipment is a plus.
  10. Must be able to lift and carry equipment/materials up to 30 pounds.
  11. A passion for serving others and exemplifying Christian values through hospitality.
