Seward County Community College is a two-year institution offering 45 programs of study, including Adult Basic Education, certificate programs and Associate of Arts, Science, General Studies and Applied Sciences degrees. Ranked in the top 5% of more than 1,100 accredited community colleges in the U.S. by the Aspen Institute, SCCC serves a student body of 2,500 students ranging in age from 15 to 85, in a county with the highest foreign-born percentage population in the U.S., and a rural service area of about 50,997 in seven Southwest Kansas counties as well as neighboring counties in southeastern Colorado, the Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles.

Responsibilities

Position assists in the day-to-day operations of the division. Responsibilities include assisting the division chair and division faculty members, working with the public, general office functions, and performing related duties as required. The position may require supervising student workers. Work is performed during the academic year.

  • Maintains budget expenditures and receivables, semester schedules, textbook requisitions, syllabi, division web pages, inventory, and activities and travel arrangements by using Banner, Access, Excel, and Word.
  • Acts as receptionist for the division, helping with general inquiries, providing directions, relaying messages to the appropriate person, and working with students and the public.
  • Prepares concert, play, and musical posters, programs, and tickets; prepares bulk mailings; and oversee ticket sales in the office and at the door during the performance.
  • Maintains office supplies, filing, office calendar, correspondence, and delivers outgoing and incoming mail.
  • Performs duties required by division faculty members. This may require filling in for faculty in their absence with various duties/activities, and/or supervising the division student worker.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A two-year college degree. Six months to two years of similar or related experience.

Salary Range: Salary commensurate with education and experience.
