Sales Manager - BMW

The Sewell Family of Companies is looking to expand our team. A good fit as Sales Manager would be an individual who exemplifies the Sewell culture. A performance driven spirit, the desire to be held accountable for their results, and capable of handling growth within the organization. This role assumes a large responsibility for a company that has been a leader within the automotive industry since 1911. In this position, you will ensure customer retention and the profitability of this profit center by managing a qualified sales team.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Forecasts goals and objectives for sales, gross, and key expenses on a monthly and annual basis.
  • Hires, motivates, counsels, and monitors the performance of all sales team members.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect vehicle sales.
  • Directs and schedules the activities of all department employees, ensuring proper staffing at all times.
  • Assists individual salespeople in setting aggressive yet realistic monthly goals and objectives and provides them with the support to meet these goals.
  • Ensures proper follow-up of all potential buyers by developing, implementing, and monitoring a prospecting and sales control system.
  • Maintains vehicle inventory. Monitors customer's likes and dislikes, lost sales, and dealership sales history and conducts local market analyses to determine which vehicles to stock.
  • Processes salesperson commission sheets daily and monitors the payroll records of all used-vehicle salespeople.
  • Conducts daily and weekly sales and sales training meetings.
  • Helps salespeople close deals.
  • Ensures 100 percent turnover of each customer to F&I.
  • Enforces a 3 day turn policy.
  • Appraises all incoming used vehicles.
  • Plans and controls the display of vehicles.
  • Assists in the development of advertising campaigns and other promotions.
  • Handles customer complaints immediately and according to dealership's guidelines.
  • Accommodates for all requirements through manufacturer
  • Attends managers' meetings.
  • Maintains professional appearance.

Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am - 6pm with rotating Saturdays


Skills and Requirements:

  • Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.
  • Ability to use dealership software programs and Microsoft office programs.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this position, the individual must be able to perform each job responsibility satisfactorily, have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record, complete a drug screening, background screening, and provide all government I-9 requirements. A combination of education, experience, and training is always considered.
