What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Receptionist position at SF Vet Hospital?
SF Vet Hospital is looking for a compassionate, motivated, articulate, enthusiastic "people person" who pays attention to detail. Our ideal candidate can work in a fast-paced environment, enjoys interacting with a wide variety of clients and their pets, takes pride in a job well done and can work Weekdays or Weekends as needed. This position could include cross-training with different departments.
SF Vet Hospital is a full-service animal hospital that provides superior veterinary care services, including wellness, surgical, and emergency care, to the pets and clients in our community seven days a week.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Greet patients, their pets, vendors, pharmaceutical representatives, and other visitors to our medical office
- Educate clients on the importance of preventative care
- Answer patient questions, provide assistance and directions when necessary
- Field all phone calls and send emails
- Utilize our medical office software to schedule new and follow-up appointments for our patients
- Register new patients and update necessary records
- Checking in and out clients/patients
- Distribute forms and paperwork to patients and then check them over to ensure that required fields are completed appropriately
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient records
- Ensure that the waiting room environment remains quiet, calm, organized and welcoming
- Uphold the positive reputation of our medical office by always treating visitors in a friendly, welcoming, and compassionate manner
- Physical ability to lift, restrain and move 50 pound animals on your own, the ability to be on your feet for several hours at a time, and the ability to stand, reach, and bend on a regular and consistent basis
We will love your experience, passion, drive, and ability to work well with a team. This is a full-time position, and while we prefer experience in a Veterinary setting, we are willing to train the right person.
