Job Description

The Chief Financial Officer will plan and direct the financial operations of the company including budgeting, planning, and other financial matters. The individual in this role will assess the organization's financial performance in relation to both short- and long-term goals, budgets, and forecasts.

Essential Job Functions

The list below describes general duties and responsibilities but is not limited to :

Supervisory Responsibilities :

  • Oversees employees responsible for financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation.
  • Implements internal control policies and procedures for all financial activities.

Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Prepare and present monthly financial budgeting reports including monthly profit and loss by division, forecast vs. budget by division.
  • Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendations.
  • Provide insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plan of organization.
  • Identify and implement system enhancements to provide critical financial and operational information. Evaluate departments and make suggestions for automating processes and increasing working efficiency.
  • Supervise the accounting department to ensure the proper functioning of all systems, databases and financial software. Provide regular maintenance and backup of all accounting systems and supervise company financial staff.
  • Drive pivotal decisions as they relate to strategic initiatives and operational models.
  • Handles all functions of accounting, financial and cash management.
  • Coordinates the company’s financial planning and budgeting activities.
  • Coordinate and oversee the preparation of periodic financial statements, activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
  • Ensures that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Reviews financial details from past, present, and forecasted operations; identifies development opportunities and improvements that can be made.
  • Confirms accuracy and oversees the filing of quarterly and annual reports with the appropriate filing authorities.
  • Collaborates with external auditors to provide information needed for the annual audit.
  • Maintains knowledge of organizational procedures, federal and state regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Prepares various monthly journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Works with NetSuite team on ongoing projects.
  • Provides training to support and develop the accounting team.
  • Reviews payroll transmission for accuracy.
  • Manages the accuracy and productivity of the day-to-day activities of accounting.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Job Requirements

    Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required; master's degree preferred.
  • Five years or more of related experience required.
  • CPA designation highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Preferably proficient with NetSuite accounting software or similar.

  • Availability Requirements :

  • Management team members should maintain a flexible schedule to support business needs and ensure smooth operations.
  • Pre-Employment Requirements :

  • Candidate must pass a pre-employment screening including Level II Background Check and drug test.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 15 lbs.
