Job Description

The Account Manager's primary responsibility is to support Janitorial operations for new, existing, and prospective clients by ensuring high cleaning standards and providing effective training for all staff, including Site Supervisors. This position reports to the Janitorial General Manager.

Essential Functions

The list below describes general duties and responsibilities but is not limited to:

  • Inspects and evaluates facility conditions to determine necessary work and reports any safety or maintenance issues to the client.
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to manage high-visibility accounts while prioritizing relationship management.
  • Responsible for scheduling project work such as cycle cleaning, floor care, light maintenance and pressure washing services.
  • Develops and provides clients with a regular maintenance schedule, including routine inspections.
  • Trains staff on job skills, proper cleaning techniques, and equipment usage.
  • Manages the employee badging process, including reimbursement of cost to staff.
  • Inspects completed work to ensure it meets specifications and established standards.
  • Manages staffing levels and payroll budgets in accordance with contract specifications.
  • Ensures accurate handling of daily employee attendance via payroll systems.
  • Monitor restroom technology system.
  • Maintains account supply inventory to meet required levels, including predetermined emergency stock as outlined in the contract.
  • Prepares reports on activities, personnel, occupancy, hours worked, facility usage, completed work, and departmental expenses.
  • Works with staff and union steward/representative to resolve performance and personnel issues and discuss company policies.
  • Evaluates employee performance and recommends personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, and dismissals.
  • Identifies and recommends service improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Reports employee status changes to Human Resources and the client as needed.
  • Works closely with the Janitorial General Manager to address customer concerns and implement necessary changes.
  • Reviews and oversees Quality Assurance (QA) inspections and ensures deficiencies are properly resolved.
  • Ensures all safety procedures are followed by all employees.
  • Additional functions may be required.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent supervisory work experience.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Experience with payroll processes, including reconciling budgeted hours against actual hours worked.
  • Proven experience in training and leading team leaders and supervisors.
  • Experience working with Union staff.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage employees.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Punctual, reliable, and dependable.
  • Flexible availability to work both day and night shifts, based on the company's needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Must hold a valid and active Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
  • Must pass a pre-employment screening including Level II background check, drug test, and Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Candidate must pass Miami Dade Aviation Department (MDAD)/Customs Border Patrol background check and meet the badging requirements.
  • Adhere to grooming standards as outlined in SFM’s Employee Handbook.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift, carry, or move heavy objects weighing up to 30lbs throughout the shift.
  • Ability to safely and efficiently drive and operate vehicles.
