SGA's Early Head Start Home-based program serves children 0-3 years and pregnant women within the city of Chicago through weekly home visits engaging both the caregiver and the child. Additionally, families participate in bi-monthly group socializations, parent training, governance, and field trips.
As part of the research-based Head Start program, all children and their families receive wraparound services to ensure the healthy development and success of the child. The Home-Based Program Coordinator provides the overall leadership and guidance to the EHS team to ensure compliance with the Head Start Performance Standard (HSPS). They are the liaison between the funder and the families and provide administrative direction to ensure policies and procedures are in place, implemented, and monitored; reports are completed on a timely basis; training and professional development is on-going; and ensures a supportive, efficient culture within the program.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Administrative & Monitoring
- Provide oversight to the implementation of HSPS content areas (Program Design & Management, Governance, ERSEA, Education & Disabilities, Family & Community Engagement, Health & Safety, Mental Health and Transportation) for the Home-based Early Head Start Program serving children ages zero to three and pregnant women.
- Monitoring of the program and monitors monthly in-kind documentation and provide to the fiscal team.
- Ensures the program maintains full enrollment with a 20% always waiting list, and verify all new intakes are error free
- Work with ERSEA Specialists to develop and implement an active and on-going comprehensive recruitment plan, plan and facilitate recruitment events
- Provide leadership for the program in implementing monitoring procedures, annual self-assessment, federal reviews, Program Improvement Plans, Community Assessments, and the Program Information Report (PIR).
- Collaborate with Health Specialist to facilitate annual OAE events for all returning participants
- Develop and implement program policies and procedures to ensure compliance with HSPS and Start Early requirements.
- Complete reports and monitoring of program implementation in all content areas as required by the funder.
- Oversee partnership agreements with consultants to ensure the services are being implemented as outlined in the Scope of Service.
- Review and approve timesheets, time off, and support HR with documentation of personnel files according to HSPS and the funder.
- Ensure the completion of purchase orders, check requests, in-kind documentation
- Update the parent handbook, program calendar, consent forms and other fiscal / administrative policies according to SGA policies and procedures.
- Attend monthly liaison meetings and trainings, aside from EHSN HB meetings as required
