What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delegating Nurse position at SGI Healthcare Services?
Son-Grace Inc is currently looking for current Licensed Registered Nurses to join our expanding team as a Delegating Nurse for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities. Duties will include the following:
-Provide Nurse Case Management and Nursing Delegation functions including minimum 45-day on-site visits at clients’ and SG homes, individual assessment of health status, evaluation of medication administration delivery system to include: Review of Medication Administration Record(s) (MARs) Client Medications, and Physician Medication Order Form(s) (PMOF’s) for individuals needing nursing delegation services.
-On-call coverage for medical/nursing-related matters.
-Provide evaluation of competency of Certified Medication Technicians
-New Admissions: Assess the individual, review medical history, current medications, setting for delegation and make recommendations to designated staff. Develop an initial nursing evaluation and the nursing plan of care.
-Always available to site/ staff coordinators/directors to answer questions concerning medical and/or medication issues.
-Perform staff training and retraining as needed/requested
-Consult with Physicians, Family members and or team members, and pharmacy personnel as needed/requested
-Advocate for individuals with Developmental Disabilities.
-Comply with the standards outlined in the Maryland State Board Nurse Practice Act.
-Maintain confidentiality of all individuals and always promote individuals’ rights. Compliance with the Health insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
-Follow the professional standards of Nursing Practice Standard and applicable program rules and regulations. (DDA, Private Pay, State Dept. Health dept.)

Please Note: All applicants must be licensed through the Maryland Board of Nursing and attend the Developmental Disabilities Administration’s Delegating Nurse 16 hour training course within 3 months of hire.
