Job Title: Technology - Enterprise Architect Specialist
Location: Jacksonville, FL (Hybrid)
Duration: 12 Months
Job Summary:
The Enterprise Architect Specialist plays a key role in defining and maintaining the overall technology architecture that aligns with JEA’s business strategy. This role involves assessing feasibility, planning, designing, and implementing enterprise technology solutions. The specialist will also contribute technical expertise to enterprise planning, ensuring alignment between business and IT resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain enterprise architecture models, including business processes, rules, and information flow.
- Act as a technical lead or resource on projects to ensure conformance with enterprise architecture principles.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective technology solutions.
- Ensure architecture consistency and integration across JEA’s technology landscape.
- Research and evaluate emerging technology trends and their applicability within JEA.
- Provide strategic input in defining the future technology architecture.
- Facilitate technical discussions and ensure stakeholder alignment.
- Prepare technical documentation, business cases, and presentations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve enterprise architecture issues.
Required Competencies:
- Extensive knowledge in enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, ITIL, COBIT).
- Expertise in architecture design principles, object-oriented analysis, and the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Strong skills in understanding business processes, developing technical specifications, and managing complex IT projects.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to plan, influence, and drive results within cross-functional teams.
- Experience in IT governance, system integration, and architecture best practices.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- BA/BS in Computer Science or related field with 8 years of IT experience, or
- MBA/MS with 6 years of relevant experience, or
- 12 years of combined education, training, and experience in enterprise architecture or related fields.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in one or more of the following specialty areas:
- Enterprise Architecture, Fiber Architecture, Systems Architecture, Data Architecture, Software Architecture, Security Architecture, or Network Architecture.
- IT leadership, project management, and structured analysis procedures.
Certifications (Must be obtained within 12 months, if not already held):
- Enterprise Architecture Disciplines:
- TOGAF Certification (Preferred)
- Specialty Area Certifications:
- Fiber Architect: RCDD (Preferred), CFCE
- Systems Architect: IEEE CSDP or equivalent, Cisco Certification
- Data Architect: Oracle Certified Professional
- Software Architect: Microsoft Certified Architect
- Security Architect: ISC2 CISSP
- Network Architect: CCNP
