Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Job Goals: The position is accountable for consultation, observation, evaluation and behavior plan development to support teachers, related services providers, school administration, and paraprofessionals as they work with students with social and behavioral challenges. Must have solid knowledge of the principals of Applied Behavior Analysis including general behavioral assessment and Ethical Standards in Behavior Analysis.
Supervision: Director of Student Services/Assistant Director of Student Services/School Principal
RESPONSIBILITIES
Consult with team members with regard to behavior plans, curriculum modifications, accommodations and social skills, and provide staff with resources, tools, and in-class modeling of techniques.
Assist in the development and oversight of behavior plans for implementation across school environments and ensure data systems are in place to assess progress of effectiveness of plans and achievement of goals and objectives.
Conduct appropriate Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) to develop Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP)
Communicate BIPs to relevant staff, provide appropriate professional development for successful implementation and monitoring to ensure fidelity to BIPs.
Attend and/or provide training in Safety Care Training for De-escalation and Physical Restraint.
Understand the Individual Education Plans of students with disabilities who have social or behavioral challenges, participate in team meetings, and collaborate with special education teachers and support staff members to implement IEP accommodations or modifications.
Communicate the students' academic, social, and behavioral progress to their parents or guardians in a respectful and responsive manner.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:In accordance with Teacher Contract
EVALUATION:Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of school committee policy
Recommended Minimum Qualifications
Certification as Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)– required
Experience in evaluation and treatment of students with identified behavioral challenges
Bachelor’s degree in Education or job related area; Master’s degree preferred
