Aquatics Director (Seasonal)

Shadow Ridge Country Club is seeking a dedicated individual to manage and oversee the daily operations of our seasonal pool facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leadership and guest services. This role requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage staff while creating exceptional Member experiences in a safe environment.

The Shadow Ridge Junior Olympic-sized pool consists of a gradual depth area for young children, two water slides, a diving well, and multiple 75-foot swim lanes. The outdoor pool is typically open May through September with exact dates being weather dependent. In addition to Member recreation, swimming lessons as well as the Shadow Ridge Sharks competitive swim and dive team utilize the pool for lessons and events.

The Position: The Aquatics Director will be responsible for managing a staff of approximately 20-25 lifeguards with responsibilities including, but not limited to, employee training and scheduling, swimming lesson assignments and billing, supervising daily operations, ensuring employee and Member safety at the pool and coordinating with other departments to host events.

Planning and preparation for the pool opening begins in early May. The pool is open daily in June, July and the first half of August, from approximately 8 am – 8 pm. The second half of August the pool will be open from approximately 3:30 – 8 pm. Starting in September the pool is typically open Friday evenings, Saturday and Sundays, with shorter hours, based on weather. The Aquatics Director does not need to be on-site at all times when the pool is open, however, must have the pool fully staffed and be available to meet managerial and business demands.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily pool operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Manage staff schedules and training to maintain high service standards.
• Coordinate events at the pool area, including private parties and special functions.
• Provide exceptional service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and enhancing the overall guest experience.
• Prepare reports on pool usage, maintenance needs, and staff performance for management review.

Requirements:

• A passion for providing outstanding guest services in a recreational environment.
• Courteous, friendly and professional demeanor with Members and coworkers.
• Proven experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
• High School graduate or equivalent, must be 19 to apply.
• Ability to operate computerized POS system.
• Team Player, ability to work within a team environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs as well as be outside for long periods of time during the summer.
• Commitment to fulfill the role for the entire pool season from May through September.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
