Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper/Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team. This employee plays a crucial role in managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records for multiple accounts, and ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting processes.
Duties
- Process incoming payments and accurately record transactions in the accounting system.
- Prepare and send invoices to clients, ensuring all billing information is correct.
- Reconcile accounts receivable balances and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including journal entries related to accounts receivable.
- Collaborate with the accounts payable team to ensure seamless financial operations.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and insurance companies regarding payment inquiries and account status.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or similar role in accounting or collections.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including bank reconciliations.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft products including Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with residents, families and team members.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of accounts payable processes is advantageous but not required.
- Ability to multi-task in a high-traffic office with frequent interruptions by staff, residents, and visitors.
- Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
