Plumbing Department Manager
This critical full-time position that reports directly to one of the owners and is part of the Company Leadership Team and is responsible for the daily operation of the company's Plumbing division, providing leadership and driving the productivity, efficiency and quality of our plumbing product. The job will be more in the field than in the office, managing jobs to ensure the team is delivering as expected and making sure the customer is satisfied with our work.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Outgoing personality, comfortable speaking with customers on the phone and in person
- Good computer skills
- 10 years of estimating and managing Plumbing service and installation projects
- Experience navigating busy office environment
- P1 or P2 trade license (active or inactive)
General Job Description
- Deliver quality plumbing work with the highest integrity and honesty
- Lead department staff to install, repair and maintain residential & commercial plumbing systems
- Manage and mentor all plumbing technicians and apprentices
- Train apprentices and other Plumbers as needed
- Visit job sites and meet with customers, foster existing customer relationships and develop new customer relationships
- Develop thorough estimates and manage efficient delivery of projects
- Work directly with office staff to plan, prep and stage projects
- Work directly with office staff to schedule personnel to ensure customer satisfaction
- Monitor and manage inventory requirements on all department vehicles
- Develop estimates that meet departmental goals & objectives
- Communicate job requirements effectively with all parties involved (staff, customers, & suppliers)
- Interface with customers - handling customer calls and resolving any issues

Hours
The Plumbing department is officially in business 7am-4pm Monday through Friday. As a salaried position, the hours will fluctuate from time to time, driven by meeting the requirements of the job. Additionally, all our service personnel (including Plumbers) are on-call for emergency service 24/7/365. The Plumbing Manager is one of six managers who rotate weekly to handle any issues that pop up after hours; so, every six weeks this position is on-call, responsible for resolving any questions (typically over the phone) that come up in the field when our Technicians are on an after-hours service call.
