Dog Bather-Assistant

We are seeking a full-time Bather/asassistant. The successfuf canidate must demonstrate a strong work ethic—Lots of patients—A kind and gentle approach to bathing—A sense of humor—Exceptional time management skills—A team player attitude and be comfortable handeling dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperment. We are seeking to train an individual who has been exposed to dogs and can perform in a fast paced environmet while maintaining calm caring atmosphere.

We are a Fun, fast-paced, team-oriented, retail/grooming facility. You will be responsible for assisting the groomers in the overall care and well-being of the animals at our facility while overseeing pet retail and maintaining a clean safe environment.

We all know it isn't playing with puppies all day, and we recognize and compensate our bathers for their invaluable contributions. A clean dog is the foundation of every haircut, and our bathers are the backbone of our salon.

-$13 per hour while training. After successfully completion of the program tips will be added to your compensation which bump up the hourly rate to approximately $22 an hour--W2 bi-weekly pay--Health insurance (optional)--Matching 401k

Ideal candidate must have

-A strong work ethic—Lots of patients—A kind and gentle approach to bathing—A sense of humor—Exceptional time management skills—A team player attitude—Prior experience bathing dogs in a grooming environment

Responsibilities include:

• Must be a self-starter and be able to multitask. This position will require a person who can transition from client check-in/check-out, to sales, to bathing, to deep cleaning multiple times throughout the day
• Must be able to engage with clients and answer questions about pet nutrition and grooming needs
• Must be comfortable handling dogs of all breeds and temperaments. Keep in mind not all of the dogs that come into our facility are friendly during the bathing/grooming process
• Must be able to lift 60 lbs. OR MORE with no assistance
• Must have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while being open-minded, and self-motivated
• Must like working in a team environment but also be able to work independently
• Must have great time management skills and help maintain a clean and healthy work environment

Qualifications:

• Must be computer savvy
• Must be passionate about the well-being of pets and willing to learn about the products we sell

We love what we do but this can be a dirty job and requires someone who can interact with animals in a calm and non-threatening manner. You will be getting wet, have dog hair on you, and have to clean up after the animals in our care.
