Shaheen & Gordon, P.A. is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented full-time Legal Assistant to join our growing Estate Planning practice group in the Manchester, NH office. The ideal candidate is a professional with a desire to further their career in the legal field and must demonstrate the ability to work as a member of a team, in addition to working independently. The responsibilities assigned to this role include:
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in trusts and estates, or related fields is preferred
- Strong communication skills via phone and email with potential new clients and existing clients
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Adobe, scanning and maintaining electronic files is a plus
- Attention to detail and proofreading skills
- Must have excellent secretarial skills with the ability to multi-task under pressure and prioritize
- Opening and closing of files
- Conducting conflict checks
- Manage case database and status tracker
- Calendar court dates/deadlines
- Finalize original Estate Planning binders for clients
- Assist with preparing Court filings
- Handle filing of pleadings with the Probate Court for both paper and electronic files
- Draft correspondence to clients, interested parties, and the Court
- Prepare files for Attorney meetings
- Receiving, scanning, and distributing incoming and outgoing mail correspondence, as needed
- Schedule appointments and meetings for Attorneys, as needed
- Serve as the second point of contact for the Team for clients
