Job Summary
Shaker Pointe is seeking a Painter to join our facilities team. This role is crucial in maintaining the appearance and upkeep of our community, with a strong focus on rehabbing apartments for new residents. The Painter will be responsible for interior painting, minor drywall repairs, and surface preparation to ensure a high-quality finish in resident apartments and common areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Apartment Turnovers: Repaint and refresh vacated apartments to prepare them for new residents.
- Surface Preparation: Patch holes, sand, and prime walls before painting.
- Painting: Apply paint, stain, and finishes using brushes, rollers, and sprayers.
- Common Area Maintenance: Maintain hallways, lobbies, and other shared spaces to uphold Shaker Pointe’s high standards.
- Color Matching & Inventory: Ensure consistent paint colors and maintain an organized supply of paint and materials.
- Minor Repairs: Perform small drywall repairs and caulking as needed before painting.
- Clean-Up: Protect furniture and flooring during projects, maintain a neat workspace, and clean up after completion.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Director of Facilities and maintenance team to prioritize and complete projects efficiently.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a professional painter, preferably in residential or commercial settings.
- Strong knowledge of painting techniques, tools, and materials.
- Ability to complete projects with attention to detail and high-quality standards.
- Basic drywall repair and patching skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for long periods, and work on ladders.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience in a senior living community is a plus but not required.
