Position Summary
The Seasonal Development Events Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting Shakespeare & Company’s development efforts during the vibrant summer season. This position focuses on managing the entire lifecycle of key fundraising events, including donor receptions, community events, and our annual Gala.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Development and Marketing teams to ensure all events reflect Shakespeare & Company’s mission and align with its messaging;
- Manage event logistics, including invitations, RSVPs, vendor coordination, event budgets, and on-site support to ensure seamless execution;
- Assist with the planning, organization, execution, debriefing, and donor follow-up for summer fundraising events, including donor receptions, benefit performances, the annual Gala, and other special gatherings;
- Provide exceptional stewardship to donors, fostering a welcoming and memorable experience at events;
- Work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, to support event schedules;
- Contribute to the overall workflow of the Development Department, maintaining team priorities and assisting with general tasks outside of event-related responsibilities.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Characteristics Sought

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for events;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint;
- Experience with fundraising databases (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, or similar) preferred;
- Prior experience in event planning, fundraising, or nonprofit development preferred;
- Experience in fast-paced nonprofit organization preferred;
- Experience with ticketing systems (AudienceView/OvationTix or similar) preferred;
- Bachelor’s Degree or comparable work experience preferred;
- Completion of a COVID-19 vaccine regimen and booster, if eligible, prior to employment term, and willingness to test weekly or more as per Company safety guidelines (at Company expense).
Compensation
This hourly, 40-hour/week, non-exempt, at-will employee will receive $18 per hour and is eligible for overtime.
