Maximize Your Impact: The Responsibilities You’ll Own:
- Installs irrigation systems and makes proper adjustments accordingly to ensure proper coverage of irrigated landscape area. Use irrigation methods to adjust the amount of water consumption and to prevent waste. Assist in design of system.
- Maintains existing irrigation systems by conducting periodic inspections and making repairs to valves, heads, and irrigation lines to ensure systems are operating properly. Repairs/installs electric (under supervision of Electrician) and manual irrigation components: to include controllers, valves, pipes, etc.
- Inspect, repair and maintain mechanical equipment.
- Mows, plants, weeds, and waters all flowerbeds and landscaping areas (seasonal). Apply chemical applications, if necessary. Removes snow and ice from walks and driveways. Assist with snow plowing and removal (seasonal). Assists with the pickup and removal of trash.
- Performs work for special events (e.g., Wacipi) to include grounds maintenance, garbage control, pest control and vendor set up/tear down.
- Other duties as assigned
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Three years experience conducting field troubleshooting, repairs and/or installation of commercial/municipal irrigation control systems.
- Valid Class D driver’s license may be required with a good driving record.
- MN Pesticide Applicators License or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Mechanical aptitude
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to read and understand irrigation blueprints
- Knowledge of central irrigation control systems and booster pumps.
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work in a wide range of climate temperatures, including excessive heat and/or subzero temperatures.
- Proficiency in maintaining safety while handling potential fumes, chemicals, odors, and/or noise.
- Capacity to handle and lift up to 100 lbs. as needed.
- Has the physical abilities to perform the required job duties with or without accommodations, including on feet 75% of time.
