In addition, our Low Voltage Technician will assist our Electricians when needed.
Create Your Path: The Work You’ll Do:
- Installation, maintenance and repair and termination of Voice and Data infrastructure (i.e., IP Network, WAP”s/WIFI, analog/POTS and VOIP).
- Installation, maintenance and repair of Fiber Optic (I e, Single Mode, Multimode, OSP and Fusion splicing).
- Completes assigned work orders.
- Coordinates purchasing of low-voltage cable and necessary component hardware in conjunction with Purchasing department.
- Responds to and assists in all building, equipment, or systems emergency situations involving the Public Works department.
- Installs building automation communication and control cables.
- Assists Electricians in minor high voltage cabling.
- Labels lines for identification.
- Marks up As-built drawings pertaining to low voltage for changes and submits to CAD.
- Any combination of two-year’ trade school in electrical- or electronics-related field and two years’ minimum field experience.
- Knowledge of telecom standards and codes (i.e., EIA/TIA, NEC) relating to Network, Fiber Optics, Fire.
- Alarm systems, paging systems, Security systems, Audio/Video, Antenna and low voltage wiring.
- Must possess Power Limited Technician License.
- Basic knowledge of computer keyboard for simple data entry and electronic mail software.
- Valid Class D driver’s license required with a good driving record.
- Ability to move in a variety of motions including bending, squatting, crawling, kneeling, twisting, pulling, and/ or pushing.
- Capacity to handle and lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
- Has the physical abilities to perform the required job duties with or without accommodations, including on feet 80% of time.
- Ability to work in a wide range of climate temperatures, including excessive heat and/or subzero temperatures.
