Location: Shaler Area School District, Glenshaw, PA
Position Type: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
Hours: 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our Business Office. The ideal candidate will support the financial operations of the district by processing and recording financial transactions accurately and efficiently, ensuring adherence to district policies and procedures. This position reports directly to the Director of Finance and Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and fax communications.
Maintain the central office postage meter and manage mail preparation for the district.
Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, including purchase orders, payroll, and ledgers.
Reconcile checks, verify bank balances, and assist with preparation of financial reports.
Assist with purchasing activities, including bid preparation, tabulation, and purchase order generation.
Oversee accounts payable processing and ensure timely payments.
Support general clerical tasks and central office operations as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Accounting preferred, but not required.
At least one year of experience or training in accounts payable or accounting preferred.
Proficiency in using computers, office equipment, and financial software systems.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift (up to 50 lbs), and perform clerical tasks throughout the day.
Use of a personal vehicle may be required for mail deliveries to the post office.
