About the Role:
As a Residential Support Worker II/PSS Float, you will provide vital assistance to residents experiencing severe and prolonged mental illness, helping them live safely and independently. Your role includes both direct care (helping with daily living activities and promoting independence) and maintaining the physical environment of the facility. You will work collaboratively within our team to ensure the safety and well-being of residents while also supporting their individual treatment plans. This position requires a warm, compassionate approach, and the ability to adapt to dynamic needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Service (40%): Assist residents with activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, grooming, dressing), transport residents to appointments, provide medication management, and offer emotional support in times of crisis.
- Collaboration and Coordination (10%): Work with community services, other providers, and family members to ensure the highest level of care for our residents.
- Clinical Documentation (40%): Maintain accurate and timely documentation of residents’ progress, treatment plans, and medication supervision.
- Meetings and Supervision (5%): Participate in regular team meetings and supervision sessions to stay aligned with the program's goals.
- Miscellaneous (5%): Perform additional duties as assigned, including emergency response, building inspections, and ensuring a clean, safe environment.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education & Experience: High school diploma required; mental health experience or related field preferred. MHRT-I Certification or provisional eligibility required. In lieu of a degree, 2-4 years of relevant experience will be considered.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to set boundaries with residents while offering support. Capability to adapt to varying roles within the agency.
- Physical Demands: Ability to perform moderate physical activities such as lifting, walking, and standing. Ability to assist clients physically when necessary.
- Availability: Flexibility with evening, overnight, and weekend shifts as required.
