Rooms Inspector
The Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa/Short Pump is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Rooms Inspector in our Housekeeping department. This is a great opportunity for hard working, detail-oriented candidates interested in a future with an industry leader in hospitality management.

The job of the Rooms Inspector is to lead housekeeping teams, inspect rooms, ensure smooth operations of the department and work closely with the Executive Housekeeper and other hotel departments.
Job Duties:
- Lead, train and supervise Room Attendants and Housepersons in a designated area to ensure all rooms and public areas meet established cleanliness and quality standards.
- Work with Executive Housekeeper, Housekeeping Supervisor and others to support the daily operation of the department, including opening/closing of the office, leading morning stand up meetings and communicating with the Front Desk.
- Assess room inventory, assign rooms for cleaning and inspect rooms.
- Verify and report status and/or discrepancies of rooms.
- Monitor linen rooms, carts and designated inventories.
- Coordinate with Engineering Department to ensure efficient maintenance and repair of items related to guest rooms and public areas.
- Perform Room Attendant, Houseperson or laundry duties as needed.
- Greet guests in a friendly and warm manner, answer their questions and address any issues with the team to ensure the guest’s stay is a positively memorable experience.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have housekeeping or hospitality experience, is interested in a supervisory/management career and takes pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest service.
- One year experience as a housekeeper or cleaner is required and room inspection or supervisory experience is highly desired.
- Must have strong guest service skills and be able to communicate clearly.
- Must be able to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations including the ability to handle guest complaints.
- Time management skills and strong attention to details are critical.
- Must be able to read, write and speak in English and some knowledge of Spanish is helpful.
- Must be able to be discreet and maintain confidentiality.
- Physically able to move and/or operate large objects, such as housekeeping carts, suite furniture, large bags of linen, vacuum cleans and boxes of inventory.
- Ability to use MS Office and other computer based platforms.
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time and to lift up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds on occasion with help.
- Must be able to work day-shifts, including weekends and some holidays.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must have dependable transportation
- Must be willing to wear a uniform or comply with a dress code
