We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all occupants. This position involves performing custodial duties in industrial, commercial, and residential settings, with a focus on floor care and facilities maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and buffing floors to maintain cleanliness and shine.
- Conduct thorough cleaning of restrooms, break rooms, and common areas to ensure hygiene standards are met.
- Maintain cleanliness of exterior areas, including walkways and entrances.
- Assist with industrial cleaning tasks as needed, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
- Carry out porter duties such as moving furniture or equipment as required for events or maintenance activities.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly.
- Follow established procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to ensure safety and compliance.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in custodial or janitorial services is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning techniques and equipment operation is a plus.
- Familiarity with floor care methods including buffing and waxing is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning duties that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
