What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Shapell Properties Inc?
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Multi-family Communities located in Long Beach. The successful candidate will have a high level of skill in general apartment maintenance and repairs. We are looking for an individual with good communications skills, attention to detail and a high standard of professionalism to interact effectively with residents, peers, and the management team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing timely and courteous daily response to resident maintenance requests, property clean up and general property maintenance. Ability to diagnose problems and make repairs in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, dry wall, painting, exterior structural, and appliances.
Qualifications
3 years’ previous apartment maintenance experience preferred. Candidates must be knowledgeable in all facets of maintenance including but not limited to basic knowledge of tools, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, drywall repair, painting, service requests, appliance repair and apartment make-ready’s. Should be detailed oriented, ability to interact effectively with residents, peers, and management. Works well with little to no supervision and as part of a team.
The work schedule will include weekends, as well as a rotation schedule for weekend on-call emergency response.
HVAC/EPA Certification a plus.
