Location: Share Medical Center – Business Office
Reports to: Business Office Manager

Position Summary:
The Patient Financial Services Representative is responsible for patient financial counseling, processing payments, handling inbound and outbound calls, updating patient records, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines. This role requires strong customer service, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (college education preferred)
• Current BLS certification
• Customer service or call center experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical billing/coding is a plus
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with financial counseling, payment arrangements, and insurance verification
• Enter and update patient demographic and financial information in EMR
• Handle inbound and outbound calls to address patient billing concerns
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and other regulations
• Accurately document account information and process payments
• Ensure confidentiality of patient financial records
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

• Office-based role within the hospital setting
• Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use
• Occasional lifting, pushing, and bending
• Potential exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials
