The Job Developer plays a crucial role in our Career Workforce Development team. The Job Developer will report to and collaborate closely with the Career Workforce Development Director to design and implement effective strategies for job placement and career advancement. This role involves developing and maintaining relationships with employers, understanding their hiring needs, and matching qualified candidates to suitable positions. The Job Developer also works closely with job seekers, providing support and guidance to enhance their employability and ensure successful job and college placement.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Career and Workforce Development

Employer & College Engagement (30%)

● Work with CWFD to develop and implement best practices for workforce development, and to grow Sharefest school to career and college bound pipelines.

● Conduct thorough research to identify potential employers and industry partners aligned with the organization’s mission and program goals.

● Assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive employer engagement strategy, including outreach campaigns, cold calling and personalized communication.

● Arrange and conduct meetings with employers to understand their workforce needs, hiring processes, and company culture.

● Work with outside Communications Consultant to create promotional materials showcasing the benefits of hiring program participants as required.

● Recruit for and implement innovative career-based instruction and exploration events to support youth placement objectives and departmental needs.

● Assist in recruiting volunteers/corporate partners/colleges, military contacts as required, for all Sharefest programming needs, including long-term (professional group mentoring, alumni mentoring, internships, apprenticeships, employment) and short-term (to participate in mock interviews, industry panel, guest speakers, post-secondary education panels, and content specific workshops opportunities).

● Work with internal teams and external corporate partners to college and employment related needs such as job fairs, speaker panels, and other.

● Develop (as required) and manage systems that track students’ progress through the training and job placement phase of the workforce development plan, as well as tracking them through college and/or into the workforce.

● Develop and match corporate partners, scholarships, and volunteers as required to the needs of graduating students and young adults entering college and/or workforce.

Job Placement (35%)

● Assess the skills, strengths, and career aspirations of program participants to tailor job placement strategies.

● Collaborate with program team members to gain insights into participant strengths, areas for improvement, and individual career goals.

● Develop individualized job placement plans for participants, taking into account their unique skills, preferences, and career paths.

● Conduct regular check-ins with program coordinators to assess participant progress, address challenges, and adjust placement strategies as needed.

● Provide one-on-one and group mentoring and guidance to participants on crafting effective resumes, professional development, preparing for interviews, and developing job search strategies.

● Maintain workforce directory, internships, and apprenticeships, ensuring they align with the diverse skill sets and interests of program participants.

● Actively promote participants to employers, showcasing their abilities and potential contributions to the workforce.

● Actively recruit youth through programs, alumni and others for employment opportunities and placement.

● With CFWD, coordinate and implement the Senior Advisory program component and recruitment of participants for all post-high school programming needs.

● Provide instruction for the Summer Internship program and manage placement needs.


Networking (10%)

● Represent the organization at job fairs, industry and community events to enhance visibility and establish connections with potential employers.

● Organize employer-focused events such as networking mixers and informational sessions, to facilitate meaningful interactions between employers and program participants as required.

● Leverage social media platforms and professional networking sites to expand the organizations online presence and for engaging with youth participants and employers.


Administration (25%)

● Assist in the tracking of alumni program, participant incentives, participation, and alumni mentoring and case management.

● Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date database of employer contacts, job opportunities, and participant profiles.

● Track key performance indicators and generate reports related to employer engagement, such as the number of new partnerships established and the success rate of job placements.

● Communicate regularly with supervisor, asking for input and ensuring that supervisor is apprised of all important program activities, decisions, and developments.

● Recruit, collect, and track college and career partnership information, availability, and skills, and maintain an up-to-date database. Keep schedules and records of community partners/volunteers’ work.

● Implement volunteer/partner recognition system, ensuring volunteers are celebrated

● Collaborate with Career Workforce Development Team to analyze data trends and propose adjustments to the overall job placement approach.

● Assist the department in instructional needs as required.

● Participate in photo, video, voice over for promotional collateral as required.

● Other duties and special projects as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

● Strong skill in job development, school to career and workforce development program design for high school and post-secondary youth, community engagement, instruction/education, and volunteer/partnership management,.

● Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

● Exceptional organizational and project management skills.

● Knowledge of curriculum development, including skill in differentiation, scaffolding, evaluation, teaching, and assessment.

● Experience working with young adults and teens in continuation high schools, foster care, or related settings.


QUALIFICATIONS

● Experience with teaching and implementing project-based learning

● Bachelor's degree in education, public relations, volunteer management, or employment or human resources related field

● Minimum 3 years of workforce development, job development management and/or career placement experience - preferably in a school to career setting

● Experience in event coordination

● Experience working with underserved youth

● Experience supporting classroom instruction and professional development

● Experience in classroom management

● Experience working in deadline-driven environments

● Flexible with work/operational schedules

Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $50,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
