What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sharing Life Summer AmeriCorps Backpack Coordinator position at Sharing Life Community Outreach?

The AmeriCorps Summer Programs Coordinator will manage the Sharing Life Backpack food program for kids.
Primary duties include:
- Manage and organize work space for the program, including an area to store food items and an area to build bags (assembly line).
- Sort and manage inventory to build the bags.
- Instruct weekly volunteers who come specifically for this program as to what is put in the bags.
- Once bags are built, stage the bags for weekly pick up.
- Keep the weekly spreadsheet up to date as to who has come to pick up bags.
- Communicate frequently and succinctly with staff members and volunteers.
- Be present during each bag build and distribution time to ensure accuracy and compassionate distribution.
- Support the Food Pantry Operations as needed.
This location requires a total service commitment of 450 hours.
Benefits include
Living Allowance of $5,400.00; paid out biweekly ($675.00) Education Award of $1,956.35; earned at the end of term. 30 hours a week

Pay: Up to $12.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 30 per week
