Position Overview
Shaw Industries is looking for a Team Development Specialist to lead efforts in enhancing team cohesion, collaboration, and collective skills through targeted team-building and development programs, focusing on optimizing team performance and communication.
The Team Development Specialist will partner, connect with and support Shaw’s Commercial Division in achieving its business goals and objectives through leadership and team development. Create and implement strategic solutions to establish and support high-performing work teams that improve the business process, achieve business goals and improve team and individual performance.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise in the development and training of team-based people systems (Skill-based organization)
- Create a strategic approach for enhancing team development/ performance.
- Partner with frontline leaders to create customized plans to leverage Shaw’s Team Development Cycles to reinforce principles of a High-performing organization.
- Conduct needs assessments as necessary to identify individual and team needs and solutions. Utilize effective statistical and analytical techniques when reviewing data.
- Evaluate costs and options for making recommendations for appropriate training solutions, utilizing both internal and external resources to meet needs.
- Design and implement team-building activities and workshops that foster trust, communication, and collaboration among teams.
- Build and successfully maintain excellent internal partnership with plant and divisional management within the Commercial Division
- Continually monitor impact and results from training programs to continuously improve solutions and service. Follow-up with internal partners to ensure desired results are achieved.
- Evaluate team performance, identifying strengths and areas for development to guide training focus.
- Design and develop new training programs as needed to meet development needs within the division. Collaborate with local training departments and the Shaw Learning Academy to design up-to-date and innovative solutions.
- Facilitate and coordinate training programs, meetings, strategic planning sessions, team-building etc.
- Serve on Plant Leadership Teams within the Contract Division as a consultant to support key business initiatives and identify new business opportunities.
- Serve as a coach for hourly and salary leaders to improve job performance and team health
- Evaluate and utilize software to develop content, manage projects and accomplish goals
- Provide customized feedback solutions to help leaders achieve greater results. Certified feedback tools include: DiSC, Franklin Covey Trust Quotient
- Assist with launch and implementation of corporate initiatives throughout organization (e.g., Talent Strategy & Talent Selection)
- Stay up-to-date on new training technology and content. Evaluate against divisional needs to identify new training innovation
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business, organizational development or HR/Training related field
- Minimum 2-5 years experience in Training & Development.
- Experience in conducting needs analysis related to performance improvement
- Knowledge of adult learning styles & training techniques
- Certified DDI, DiSC, Insideout Coaching, Arbinger preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
