Job Title: Rise Wellness Executive Director
Location: Rise Wellness 154 Woodlawn Dr. Shawano, WI 54166
Hours: 20 hours per week May – December 2025
40 hours per week- Jan. 2026 pending funding
Reports to: SMART Committee and SMRC Board Position Overview:
The Director will oversee the day -to-day operations of Rise Wellness Recovery Center, ensuring effective delivery of recovery support services. The role will involve financial management, program coordination, community outreach, and strategic planning for revenue generation and organizational growth. The Director will work closely with the Treasurer of SMRC and attend monthly board meetings, playing a vital role in the center's mission to support individuals in recovery addiction.
Essential Job Functions
- Supervision and Operations: Direct and supervise daily operations, ensuring a safe, supportive, and organized environment for clients and staff.
- Financial Management: Oversee and manage incoming finances, including budgets, expenditure, and record-keeping, in collaboration with the SMRC Treasurer.
- Revenue Generation: Identify and implement strategies to bring revenue into the center, including partnerships, fundraising initiatives, and grant applications.
- Grant Writing: Research and write grant proposals to secure funding for programs and resources.
- Program Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule AA, NA, and AL-Anon meetings with group representatives. Organize educational events and programs to develop Life skills for clients in recovery.
- Event Planning: Lead efforts to plan community events that promote awareness, engagement, and support for recovery addiction.
- Fundraising Leadership: Plan and Lead at least two fundraising events annually to support the center's services and mission.
- Community Engagement: Act as a liaison with community organizations and stakeholders, fostering partnerships that support the center's mission.
Additional Job Responsibilities:
- Attend and actively participate in monthly SMRC board meetings.
- Collaborate with the SMRC Board and Treasurer to align financial and operational objectives. Monitor program effectiveness and recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Stay updated on best practices in addiction recovery and wellness.
Education and Training
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Social Work, Counseling, Business Administration, or related field) preferred but not required.
- Certification as a Recovery Coach or Peer Support Specialist is highly desirable.
- AODA (Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse) Counselor certification preferred, but not required.
Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit management, addiction recovery services, or a related field.
- Knowledge of recovery and peer-to-peer support models.
- Experience with financial oversight, budgeting, and resource management.
- Proven track record in grant writing and fundraising, with the ability to secure funding through various channels is preferred.
Skill Competencies
- Management Skills: Ability to lead and manage daily operations, oversee staff, and ensure program quality.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for grant writing, community outreach, and board reporting.
- Financial Skills: Proficiency in budgeting, financial reporting, and collaborating with financial officers.
- Grant Writing Skills: Demonstrated experience in writing and securing grants to fund center initiatives.
- Peer Support and Counseling: Competency in providing support and guidance for individuals in recovery.
- Fundraising and Event Planning: Ability to plan, organize, and execute successful events and fundraising activities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform tasks requiring physical activity, such as organizing event setups or moving supplies.
- May involve standing, sitting, or moving throughout the center to oversee operations.
Working Conditions
- Work will primarily be on-site at the Rise Wellness Recovery Center, with some off-site duties for community engagement and events.
- May require occasional evening or weekend availability for events and meetings.
