Cardiac Sonographer
We are seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to join our hospital team in Elmhurst, IL.
Pay: $34 to $53 an hour plus benefits.
Shift: 7:00am to 7:00pm with rotating weekends and holidays.
Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cardiac Sonographer to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a Level I Trauma Center and possess a strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology. As a Sonographer, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality imaging services to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound examinations on patients as per physician orders, ensuring high-quality images are obtained for diagnostic purposes.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to interpret ultrasound results and provide accurate documentation.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort during procedures, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Utilize knowledge of telemetry and emergency medicine to respond effectively in critical situations.
- Assist in cardiac catheterization procedures as required, demonstrating proficiency in cardiology practices.
- Ensure proper maintenance of ultrasound equipment and report any malfunctions or issues promptly.
- Stay updated on advancements in sonography techniques and participate in ongoing professional development.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited sonography program with certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and emergency medicine practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in healthcare delivery.
