Division: LLC, Wholly owned by The Shawnee Tribe
Job Title: Cage and Vault Lead
General Definition: This position is responsible for maintaining an accurate count and
highest security of all monies and transactions in the Vault.
Supervision Received: Cage and Vault Manager
Supervision Exercised: Vault Clerks and Cashiers
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead others and work effectively with Cashiers and Vault Clerks
- Support the Cage and Vault Manager with action plans for operational and service improvement.
- Assist Cage and Vault Manager to ensure that Tribal Control Standards, federal laws and established organizational policies, procedures and controls are met.
- Provide guidance in resolving issues through relating policies and procedures
- Review balance sheets completed daily by Vault Clerks to verify Vault assets.
- Investigate and resolve all daily compliance and balancing discrepancies that arise from balancing issues between Soft Count and Finance Departments and the close of End of Business balancing in accordance with the MICS and TICs guidelines.
- May, on occasion, assist the drop and count of all monies brought in from the gaming floor to uphold compliance standards but may not verify the transfer.
- Assist Vault team members in daily cash verification duties when volume warrants.
- Participate in departmental meetings in order to update staff on important information regarding relevant vault activities ensuring departmental cohesion.
- Verify the accuracy of financial data through daily verification of paperwork, resolving variances through use of currency verification equipment, manual review of tickets, automated reports and/or surveillance images.
- Investigate customer concerns providing a timely resolution to ensure maximum level of customer satisfaction with the Cage Department.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
Training and Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years vault or banking experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to develop and maintain an open line of communication with staff and team members which favors good and easy communication among all members of the Company
- Must be able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of departmental rules, regulations, and policies
- May be required to lift up to fifty (50) pounds, possess good manual dexterity, and hand/eye coordination; these requirements are based on needs of facility and staffing
- Must possess the ability to handle/count large amounts of cash utilizing currency and coin counters, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
- Must have 10-key by touch in order to perform assigned job duties correctly
- Understanding of MICS & TICS preferred, but not required
- Must be able to work in fast paced, environment
- Must be able to work flexible schedule including; evenings, weekends, holidays and promotional events
- Must be able to work in a smoke filled casino environment
Licenses/Certifications/Other:
- Must be able to pass a background check and receive/maintain a license or permit from the Shawnee Tribe Gaming Commission
