Position: Maintenance Team Leader

Responsibilities

Responsible for the leadership and safety of a team of men providing maintenance and stewardship for a 1200 acre thoroughbred horse farm to include management of budget / cost forecasting and manpower requirements. Main areas of responsibility are listed below:

· Exterior & Interior Maintenance of barns, houses and shops

· Care and maintenance of main residence interior and exterior finishes, pool, three hole golf course, landscaping and 15 acre lawn area

· Maintenance, repairs, painting and weed eating of board plank fences and gates

· Coordination and execution of pasture care to include: soil fertility, spraying, overseeding and renovation

· Repairs to pasture waterers and operation of water systems

· Movement and storage of hay and straw in support of horse operations

· Storage and disposal of all horse bedding muck by composting on site

· Preventative maintenance, repair and planned replacement of all required equipment for farm operations: Farm Vehicles, Tractors, excavation equipment, lawn mowers, weed eaters, blowers, pressure washers, wagons, trailers etc.

· Planting and care of a 25-acre dove field

· For any of the above systems / areas that cannot be handled in house by farm resources and personnel including quoting / bidding of all parts and services required

Required Skills

· Basic understanding and experience with plumbing and electrical systems.

· Ability to safely operate machinery (tractor, backhoe, skid steer, forklift)

· Ability to work in various weather conditions

· Basic computer competency: communicate by email, produce documents / estimates, use schedules, research solutions

Compensation

· Salary based on experience, review after 90 days.

· Health, Life and Disability insurance available for employee and family, approximate 25% contribution by employee through payroll deduction.

· Bonus program computed based on Farm’s and employee’s performance.

· Simple IRA match of 3%.

· Annual Review.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
