What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Manager - Cashion Grain & Feed position at Shawnee Milling Company?
The Assistant Manager will work alongside the Location Manager to facilitate the operation of retail and fertilizer sales and grain receiving and shipping. This position will also have a primary responsibility to operate the Kingfisher Elevator seasonally, as well as assist when needed at other regional locations.
Responsibilities
· Load/Unload feed, fertilizer, & grain trucks.
· Weigh, sample, and test grain.
· Assist with customers at the counter.
· Identify opportunities for growth in feed, fertilizer, and grain segments.
· Assist producers with utilizing marketing and agronomic services provided by the company.
· Review inventory and margins to enhance profitability.
· Manage routine maintenance of elevators to ensure optimal operating performance.
· Work long seasonal hours.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Must be authorized to work in the United States.
· Grain handling, retail ag sales or similar experience preferred.
· Ability to manage difficult situations; responding promptly to customer needs, resolving challenges immediately
· Ability to problem-solve, self-motivate, and learn rapidly.
· Applied business acumen with understanding of basic financial reports.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and with business application software, ability to learn business specific software.
Physical Requirements:
· Physical ability to stand or exert physical energy for extended periods; bend, stoop, climb and kneel frequently.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
Compensation:
· Salaried Position – Pay based on experience
Work Schedule:
· Monday – Friday / 8:00am – 5:00pm, Saturday 8:00am-1:00pm, Sundays – seasonally
