JOB TITLE: HR Specialist
DEPARTMENT: Corporate
REPORTS TO: Executive Leadership
JOB PURPOSE: The purpose of the HR Specialist role is to focus on the human capital employed by Shawnee Canning Company Inc. This includes, but is not limited to, staff onboarding, training, documentation, and payroll.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Collaborates with management on recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding.
2. Conducting reference checks
3. Staff Federal and State compliance training
4. Collaborating with production with safety and safety training
5. Training staff and employees on payroll time & labor, interviewing, onboarding and any other training as applicable to company business
6. Payroll operations
7. Maintains and updates employee documentation i.e., handbook, I-9 updates, tax forms and any other required documentation
8. Tracks benefit enrollment, sends new enrollment documentation to eligible employees, follows up and assists employee with enrollment into Bernie Portal.
9. Tracks benefits employee contributions collaborating with payroll administrator
10. Maintains employee personnel files
11. Tracks turnover
12. Monitors on time and absenteeism as it pertains to attendance policy. Provides updates to managers on staff absenteeism.
13. Tracking PTO and providing bi-weekly reports to managers at each location
14. Tracking of headcount at each location
15. Monitoring scheduling and payroll budget per location
16. Addresses and files workman’s comp. claims
17. Completes unemployment claims
18. Conducts compensation study and shares with leadership team
19. Collaborates with leadership team in negotiating benefit package. Maintains records on company sponsored benefit programs
20. Collaborating with management and leadership team with progressive discipline
21. Collaborating with management and leadership team on 90 day and annual performance reviews
22. Conducting employee investigations within 48 hours, completing proper documentation, and reporting back to leadership team with findings
23. Orders, maintains inventory and tracking of company merchandise
24. Any other duty that management requires
Requirements
- Comfortable working independently
- High competency in Microsoft office suite
- Experience with Paylocity payroll, time & attendance preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in human resources
- Proficient in HR law and benefit structures
- Experience dealing with employee relations
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration
- PCR certification considered
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
