What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgery Scheduler For ENT position at Shea Clinic?
Responsibilities:
- Schedule surgeries and procedures for patients, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to schedule surgeries and ensure all necessary information is obtained
- Obtain pre-authorization from insurance companies for surgical procedures
- Communicate with patients to provide necessary instructions and answer any questions regarding their surgery
- Maintain patient records and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth flow of information and coordination of patient care
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
Experience:
- 3 years required previous experience in surgery scheduling, preferably in an ENT setting
- Knowledge of medical scheduling processes and terminology
- Familiarity with Greenway or other EMR (electronic medical record) systems
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients and healthcare professionals
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in using office equipment, including phone systems and computers
