Job Scope
The Certified Water Professional - Collection and Distribution is responsible for operating all or portions of the District facility systems and infrastructure to ensure their proper operating condition for the safe, quick handling of maintenance and repairs. May direct the routine maintenance activities of full-time, part-time or temporary staff, as needed. This position requires the operator to be available for a rotating schedule for emergency on call response. The pay range for this position is $30 to $45 / hour and the Certified Water Professional is also eligible to participate in the discretionary annual bonus plan. Job Duties
- Provide support for repair of district facilities including water treatment plants, tanks, raw water wells, wastewater treatment plants, lift stations, irrigation pump stations, wastewater collection systems, potable and re-use distribution systems, etc.
- Maintain testing, operation, repair and record keeping systems including those needed for permit reporting.
- Recommend and order parts and materials, arrange for special outside repairs, and special equipment rentals, as approved.
- Perform inspections for construction of new facilities (service taps, water mains, sewer mains, etc.) added to the district’s overall system by outside contractors.
- Perform meter reading and repair activities in support of water system billing.
- May supervise vendors as needed to complete such tasks as routine maintenance, repairs or installation of facilities.
- Work independently to plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction, exercising good judgement.
- Attend and assist with pre-construction meetings, field inspections, Construction drawing adherence during construction punch list walks, for built verification and project close out as required to successfully aid in the completion of development construction within the district.
- Present a professional and positive attitude focused on safety, customer service and teamwork.
- Expected to maintain a safe working environment for employees and clients. Including following all safety procedures of confined space entry work, rod work, construction site work, private residence work and others.
- Actively participate in team meetings, safety training and other assigned activities.
- Other duties as required.

Work Environment
The Certified Water Professional work schedule may vary. Hours are normally schedule from 7 : 00 a.m. to 3 : 30 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, the position is required to work weekends (Sat / Sun) or late at night to respond to emergencies critically impacting the needs of the business and / or customers.
Work is primarily performed in a diverse field setting ranging from open areas, grounds surrounding apartment units, office, industrial and retail space environments and occasionally performed in an office environment in all weather conditions. May incur frequent interruptions and be required to perform work in wet, extreme cold, extreme heat and within permit confined spaces. With regular exposure to heavy vehicle traffic conditions, equipment noise, working with / near moving motorize equipment and hand-tools, mechanical parts, electrical equipment, chemicals, airborne particles and within confined space.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, and reach with hands and arms and lift objects up to 50 pounds. The employee is required to be proficient in speaking to customers, and have flexible and adaptable vision, including close, peripheral, depth-perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to operate company vehicle during the course of duties.
