Job Title: Construction Safety Manager
Location: Wilson, NC
Duration: 1 Year
Type: 1099 Contractor

Start: March 2025

Compensation:

• Hourly Rate: $50 - $55/hr

• Per Diem: No Per Diem

• Pay: Weekly

Schedule:

• Hours: 40 - 50 hours a week, with some weekends

Project Scope:
New construction at an existing pharmaceutical manufacturing facility involving trades such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural work, as well as heavy civil construction. Requires a thorough understanding of SOPs such as safety protocols for pharmaceutical environments and general industry standards like OSHA 1910 and 1926.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of construction, industrial, or civil experience

• OSHA 30 at minimum; OSHA 510/511 preferred

• Knowledge of OSHA, FDA, and EPA regulations

• Familiarity with ANSI, NFPA, and NIOSH standards

• HAZWOPER certified

• First Aid/CPR certified

• NFPA 70E knowledge required

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct project safety inspections and employee orientations

• Provide safety training as needed

• Monitor worksite employees and enforce safety practices

• Review and manage safety-related documentation and contractor correspondence

• Collaborate with project management teams to ensure safety goals are met

• Perform additional EHS-related tasks as required within the manager's skills and certifications

• Conduct project safety inspections and employee orientations

• Provide safety training as needed

• Monitor worksite employees and enforce safety practices

• Review and manage safety-related documentation and contractor correspondence

• Perform additional EHS-related tasks as required within the manager's skills and certifications

Skills:

• Excellent public speaking and communication abilities

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and multitasking

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• OSHA outreach training experience is a plus

• Confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information

Knowledge:
Strong understanding of EHS and industry regulatory standards in construction, with the ability to communicate these effectively.
