Job Title: Construction Safety Manager (Statesville, NC)
Location: Statesville, NC
Duration: 6 Months (Starts 9/16)
Type: 1099 Contractor
Compensation:
- Hourly Rate: $53/hr
- Completion Bonus: $150/month
- Pay: Weekly
Schedule:
- Hours: 40-50. Mon-Fri with some weekend work as needed
Project Scope:
The Construction Safety Manager will oversee the safety of mechanical & electrical contractors
- Expanding the existing building outwards to the north for additional warehouse storage (approx. 20,000 sqft.)
- Partially expanding the western side of the building (~12,000 sqft.).
- New plant office/locker room/breakroom space (approx. 17,000 sqft.) shall be extended beyond the new additional warehouse with an entry from the new employee parking lot.
- This office space shall include conference rooms, reception area, offices and cubicles required for Operations/Production/Engineering and restrooms/locker rooms.
- Existing parking lot upgrades and a new truck loop/driveway shall be part of the expansion project.
- Addition of a rail spur and unloading rail shelter.
- Modifying structural framework, exterior walls and roof to accommodate new process tanks and equipment.
- A new foundation and steel support for the installation of a dry bulk powder delivery system.
- Mechanical and electrical installation of process equipment and their controls,
- Mechanical and electrical installation of three (3) filling and packaging lines.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 7 years in construction safety management
- Certifications: Current OSHA 510 certification required and/or 4-year degree and/or
BCSP certification
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct project safety inspections and employee orientations.
- Provide safety training as needed.
- Monitor worksite employees and enforce safety practices.
- Review and manage safety-related documentation and contractor correspondence.
- Perform additional EHS-related tasks as required within the manager's skills and certifications
Skills:
- Excellent public speaking and communication abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and multitasking.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- OSHA outreach training experience is a plus.
- Confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of EHS and industry regulatory standards in construction, with the ability to communicate these effectively.
Work Environment:
Primarily in warehouse, clinical, manufacturing, and construction settings. May require after-hours work or occasional weekends in response to emergencies.
