Shipping/Receiving Department Supervisor


SUMMARY
Direct Process Ownership of Shipping/Receiving Department personnel, while providing a strong leadership role model towards all SPBCo plant personnel. The Process Owner/Supervisor of the Shipping/Receiving Department holds direct responsibility for managing to all SPBCo Safety, Quality, coordination of Shipping/Receiving schedules, coordination of crewing schedules, accuracy of warehousing availability, and is accountable for identification and implementation of process improvements within the departments.


QUALIFICATIONS:   

  • Bachelor’s degree or associate degree desired, 5 years’ Shipping Supervision required.
  • Shipping and Receiving experience
  • Excellent attendance required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products required.
  • Must have excellent skills in holding employees accountable for work performance.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and clean driving record check


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)
1. Research, understand and leverage regional freight carriers to benefit and support SPBCo’s growth initiatives
2. Coordinate, communicate, and cooperate with all Supervisors, Managers and Executive Management team to coordinate the flow of materials or products.
3. Studies shipping notices, requests for movement of finished products and reports of warehousing space available to develop schedule for material handling activities.
4. Works with sales and customer service to identify and offer delivery options.
5. Actively manage personnel to approved staffing levels, attendance records, Plant Data Entry (PDE), time accounting ADP edits/approvals for accuracy.
6. Ensure proper Training of all new hires in the logistics associate and shipping/receiving positions and that the Responsibilities a n d SOPs established in those areas are being followed.
7. Backup of the Logistics associate due to absenteeism or approved time off.
8. Must obtain knowledge of Shipping and Top Gun modules of Encore
9. Facilitate Regulatory and SPBCo mandatory Safety Training Sessions.
10. Initiate, draft and communicate all progressive disciplinary sessions regarding Safety, Work Performance and Attendance.
11. Participate in Daily production meetings, as well as monthly Metric, Safety, and Labor management meetings.
12. Conduct weekly departmental meetings for communication of Safety, Quality and Performance.
13. Coordination of scheduling for Waste pickup (Recycling trailers)
14. Assist in determining freight rates for estimating.
15. Oversees UPS, Federal Express, and other means of delivery services daily.
16. Assists in scheduling common carriers to transport and deliver our product to and from Plant 1 to the distribution centers and to the customers on time.
17. Maintains all safety compliance requirements and cleanliness of the facility.
18. Oversees end of fiscal year inventory for finished goods in the warehouse.
19. Knowledge of computer Microsoft word suite of products.
20. Daily travel between 3 locations (Main Facility and 2 Distribution Facilities) is required.
