Finishing Department Supervisor
SUMMARY
Direct Process Ownership of Finishing Department across the operation, providing a strong leadership role model towards all SPBCo plant personnel. The Process Owner/Supervisor of the Finishing Operation, holds direct responsibility for managing to all SPBCo Safety, Quality, Productivity expectations, coordination of production schedules, coordination of crewing schedules, accuracy of finished goods inventories, and is accountable for identification and implementation of process improvements within the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)
1. Ensure all work is produced in accordance with all SPBCo Behavioral Based Safety Policies, Quality Specifications and SOP’s.
2. Communication and follow-up of safety related observations/conversations.
3. Responsible for final departmental quality approvals while working to maintain the QA Manager's processes and procedures.
4. Coordinate Finishing activities in accordance with Production Schedules and Customer Requirements to achieve On Time Delivery Metric.
5. Responsible for maintaining machine maintenance logs and overseeing timely repairs within budget.
6. Coordinate, Collaborate and Communicate with all departments as required, to support job responsibilities.
7. Actively manage personnel to approved staffing levels, attendance records, Plant Data Entry (PDE), Time Accounting and EZLM edits/approvals for accuracy.
8. Facilitate Regulatory and SPBCo mandatory Safety Training Sessions.
9. Initiate, draft and communicate all progressive disciplinary sessions regarding Safety Performance, Work Performance and Attendance.
10. Participate in Daily production planning meetings.
11. Participate in scheduled monthly Metric and Labor-Management and Safety Meetings.
12. Conduct Monthly departmental meetings for communication of Safety, Production, and Quality metrics
13. Continuous training of key skill positions for advancement and sustainability.
PROFICIENCIES/CHARACTERISTICS
1. Strong knowledge of Folding Carton/Finishing Operations, and Material Handling Equipment, Methods, and Practices.
2. Organized with the ability to work in a time sensitive environment with urgency.
3. Superior verbal and written communication skills, with effective group presentation ability.
4. Proven leadership skills, experience and desire to be a change agent in the development of personnel and processes to support the present and future growth of SPBCo.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 3-5 years’ Folding Carton Finishing Supervision experience is preferred.
• 2 years’ Shipping Supervision experience is preferred.
• Supervision within a union environment is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products required.
• General familiarity with ERP systems; experience with Imaginera is highly preferred but not required.
