We are looking for a Junior SharePoint Administrator to join our client’s team onsite at the Pentagon in support of their DoD customer. In this role, you will play an important role in supporting the customer’s SharePoint environment, ensuring it is robust, efficient, and aligned with organizational needs. This role involves the management, optimization, and enhancement of SharePoint sites and applications to foster collaboration and streamline content management processes.
The SharePoint Administrator will oversee performance monitoring and upkeep, execute upgrades and migrations, and offer input on future-state solutions to improve the end-user experience, ensuring compliance with enterprise standards and policies.
This role is fully onsite in Arlington, VA and requires a minimum of Interim Secret Clearance. This is a direct hire position with our client with a salary range of $80-95k.
Responsibilities Include :
- SharePoint Maintenance & Administration :
Maintain and optimize the SharePoint environment, including site collections and applications.
Manage user permissions and roles, ensuring compliance with security best practices.Monitor and enhance performance through techniques such as database management and content caching.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, collaborating with end-users and Microsoft support as required.Manage and respond to service tickets by working closely with customers to resolve identified issues.Develop and maintain documentation and provide user training as needed.Upgrade & Migration Management :Assist in the planning and execution of migrations to modern SharePoint environments, including SP Online.
Follow comprehensive migration plans, and provide input on process, timelines, testing protocols, potential efficiency gains, etc.Ensure successful integration of SharePoint with Microsoft 365 services and third-party applications.Collaboration & Standards Adherence :Employ change control techniques for managing updates to data and designs.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and policies.Identify and implement baseline changes impacting approved configurations.Stay current with SharePoint and Microsoft 365 advancements to leverage new functionalities.Required Qualifications :
Must be a US Citizen with a current DoD Secret or be able to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance prior to starting.Must have and maintain a current CompTIA Security CE certification or must obtain the certification within your first 90 days on the team.Must reside within a commutable distance of Arlington, VA in order to work onsite fulltime.3 or more years of related experience.Required Skills and Experience :
Experience managing on-premises and / or SharePoint Online environments.Experience in creating and maintaining site collections, libraries, lists, and web parts.Configuring user permissions, roles, and access rights.Hands-on experience with migrating legacy SharePoint systems to modern SharePoint or SharePoint Online.Familiarity and hands-on experience with SP migration tools (Microsoft native and third party).Experience integrating SharePoint with Microsoft 365 services (e.g., Teams, OneDrive, etc.).Ability to troubleshoot SharePoint issues (performance, user access, system errors).Understanding of database management, content caching, and performance tuning.Experience in implementing change control techniques for SharePoint configurations, workflows, and data.Successful participation in at least one full-cycle SharePoint migration project.Supporting SharePoint upgrade and / or site architecture and design projects.Experience working directly with end-users to gather requirements and deliver customized SharePoint solutions.Documenting processes and providing user training or support.Experience adhering to organizational policies, standards, and governance.Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to identifying system needs.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.Excellent written and verbal communication for end-user support and documentation.Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.Experience in customer service and a strong orientation towards providing excellent service.Desired Skills, Qualifications, and Experience :
